Google Tools In The Classroom
Using Google "documents" is a great way to promote collaboration among students at no cost to school districts, as well as an excellent avenue to expose students to technology enhanced learning. Other tools such as Google Maps and Images present nice visuals for its users on a variety of locations or topics. Customized engine searches are also useful in pinpointing relevant information.

Chad,
ReplyDeleteI agree that customized search engines are cool and can assist you in pinpointing relevant info.
I'm thinking that our teachers would benefit from the collaboration of google docs as well...they have a heck of a time scheduling conferences around families and having to worry about what time what kid has what conference. I think they could use google docs to help them. Either that or a wiki...
ReplyDeleteChad,
ReplyDeleteAs we used a variety of the different google tools I also thought about the collaboration point. And, you make a great point - at no cost to districts, which is a huge point. I think teaching students about google tools is a way to really teach them some of the advantages of/how to use the current technologies.
